And the answer to the question of the day would be...

"Yup. Your toe is broken (but not the bone in your foot) and we can't do anything for you. We recommend you buddy tape the toe for four weeks."

ARRRRGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(hobbling off to feel sorry for myself...)

Hugs!!! I've had a broken big toe years ago- and was told to "buddy tape" them too- but you know how uncomfortable it is to have TAPE on your toes?!? Where the tape is pulling and tugging on your toe-skin with each step???! No one has toes that don't slide around next to each other as they walk- so taping them actually makes them feel worse!

Hope it heals up quickly- at least to where it's not bothering you constantly anymore! (Mine took years before it stopped being tender, sorry!)

YEARS?!! Gee - such a comforting thought. ;-)

I actually messed up my big toe a few years ago (fell and the toe went sort of under my foot - not sure if it broke, pulled ligaments, tendons, or all of the above). I never had it looked at but I do recall it taking FOREVER to heal...and my toenail got very thick for some weird reason.... Sorry, probably TMI!

So, I do know it could be a while before it's back to 'normal' -- I did tape it and have been wearing my sandals because they provide support. It's not too bad this evening but I know I still need to rest it as much as possible.

It just SUCKS!

Poor girl! Break out the Haagen Daaz and that stack o' books, ship the kids two doors down and indulge in a pity party. :( I wish I were closer & could help! Big hugs!
